Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, has launched one of India’s most affordable solar rooftop offerings in Odisha under its ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign.
The new offering enables residents to install rooftop solar systems with upfront payments starting at just Rs 2,499 for 1 kW. For 2 kW and 3 kW systems, the initial payments are Rs 4,999 and Rs 7,999 respectively. These systems are supported by consumer-friendly financing and government subsidies.
The initiative targets 300,000 rooftop installations in Odisha and 1 million installations nationwide over the next 3 to 5 years. It is being implemented in partnership with the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency, with support from the central and state governments under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and Odisha’s rooftop solar scheme.
The central subsidy covers up to Rs 78,000 for systems up to 3 kW, while the Odisha government offers additional support of Rs 25,000 for 1 kW, Rs 50,000 for 2 kW, and Rs 60,000 for systems of 3 kW or more. This combination significantly reduces costs and improves affordability for households across the state.
As part of its expanded offerings, TPREL has also introduced:
- MySine: a solar-plus-battery system for backup power,
- Solar Design Spaces: a curated selection of aesthetic rooftop solar installations.
