Transformers and Rectifiers India Limited (TARIL) secured a Rs 1,664.5 million contract from Hyosung T&D India Private Limited for the supply of single-phase coupling transformers.

The contract was awarded on February 18, 2025, with completion expected by FY 2027. The projects will be executed through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process.

On February 17, 2025, TARIL’s subsidiary, TARIL Switchgear Private Limited, launched 245 kV high-voltage bushings, furthering the group’s commitment to backward integration and manufacturing excellence. These bushings, produced at its Ahmedabad facility, feature sustainable materials, high reliability, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for quality assurance.

TRIL also achieved a milestone with the successful completion of a short-circuit test on an 8.8 MVA 33/2X0.690 kV inverter duty transformer with aluminum winding at the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Bangalore. These transformers are essential for renewable energy transmission.

Established in 1994 and headquartered in Ahmedabad, TARIL manufactures a wide range of transformers and reactors, including single-phase power transformers (up to 500 MVA & 1200 kV), furnace transformers, rectifier and distribution transformers, locomotive traction transformers, series and shunt reactors, mobile substations, earthing transformers, solar application transformers, and green hydrogen application transformers. The company operates on a B2B model, serving power generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial sectors, with an installed capacity of approximately 40,000 MVA and a global footprint in over 25 countries.

TARIL reported revenue from operations of Rs 5.45 billion in Q3 FY25, marking a 49% year-on-year (YoY) growth. The company achieved an EBITDA of Rs 870 million, reflecting a 135% YoY increase. The EBITDA margin stood at 15.69%, improving by 569 basis points (bps). The profit after tax (PAT) margin was 9.12%, rising by 520 bps.
