JSW Energy fully operationalizes 700 MW Utkal thermal power plant

JSW Energy Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary, has commenced operations of Unit-2 (350 MW) at the Utkal thermal power plant in Odisha. Both units, with a combined capacity of 700 MW, were restored and made fully operational within two years of acquisition.  The plant operates on domestic coal but does not currently have long-term power purchase agreements.

Power Mech wins O&M contract for Jaypee Nigrie plant

Power Mech Projects Limited has secured a Rs 1.86 billion contract from Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited (JPVL) to provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the 2×660 MW Jaypee Nigrie super thermal power plant in Madhya Pradesh. The contract covers five years, with a first-year value of Rs 31 million per month. From January 2026, a monthly price escalation will apply based on the wholesale price index.

India to establish first 800-MW AUSC thermal power plant in Korba

India’s first 800-MW advanced ultra-supercritical (AUSC) thermal power plant will be established in Korba, Chhattisgarh. The project is a collaboration between NTPC and BHEL, with support from the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research. BHEL secures contract for Telangana Stage-II thermal power plant

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has secured a contract from NTPC Ltd to establish the main plant package for the 3×800 MW Telangana Stage-II supercritical thermal power plant.  The contract encompasses design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, commissioning, and civil construction.  BHEL has received a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) from NTPC to commence basic engineering work for the main plant package.
