MNRE approves 2,000 MWh battery storage project in Rajasthan

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has approved Rajasthan’s proposal to set up a 2,000 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) with a four-hour discharge cycle. The project is designed to support the state’s high solar generation and growing evening power demand. SJVN Green commissions 128.88 MW at Bikaner solar project

SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN Limited, has declared commercial operation of 128.88 MW from its Bikaner Solar Power Project on 30 September 2025. With this addition, the project has reached a cumulative commissioned capacity of 629.90 MW out of the planned 1,000 MW. The balance capacity is expected to be brought online in the near term.
