Torrent Power reports reduced T&D losses in major licensed areas

Torrent Power has reported a reduction in transmission and distribution (T&D) losses across most of its licensed and franchised distribution areas for the first half (April to September) of FY25.  In the Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar licensed area, T&D losses dropped from 6.30% in H1 FY24 to 4.50% in H1 FY25. Sugs Lloyd wins Rs 3 billion power infrastructure projects in Bihar

Sugs Lloyd has emerged as the lowest bidder for two Bihar government projects worth Rs 3 billion. The contracts include the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning (SITC) of a power substation along with high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) lines.  CEO Satyakam Basu expressed excitement over this milestone, noting that the company is considering an IPO to expand operations and fulfil working capital needs.

Kenya suspends deal between KETRACO and Adani Group

Kenya’s high court has suspended a $736 million agreement between state-owned Kenya Electrical Transmission Company (KETRACO) and Adani Group’s Adani Energy Solutions to develop and operate power infrastructure, including transmission lines.  The suspension follows a legal challenge by the Law Society of Kenya, which has criticized the agreement as “a constitutional sham” and “shrouded in secrecy.” The Law Society claims that KETRACO and Adani Energy Solutions did not fulfill public participation requirements, a mandate under…
