Mercados Energy wins consultancy contract for APDCL power procurement

Mercados Energy Markets India Private Limited has secured a Rs 2.8 million contract to provide consultancy and regulatory support services to Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) for the procurement of 500 MW long-term hydro power. APDCL invited bids for the consultancy in October 2024. The project will be executed through a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process.

JV secures consultancy contract for Hanol Tiuni hydro project

The joint venture of Convolution Engineering Consultancy LLP and Hydro Consult Engineering Limited has won a Rs 9.85 million contract to provide consultancy services and prepare a comprehensive, bankable Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Hanol Tiuni Large Hydro Electric Project.  Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVN) invited bids for the same in April 2024. Tlawng hydro project to begin construction in FY 2025

The Tlawng Hydro-Electrical Project, with a planned capacity of 120 MW, is set to begin construction in FY 2025. Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation is currently underway. The Central Water Commission (CWC) has completed key studies, including topographical survey, geotechnical investigation, seismic study, and construction material analysis, along with a foundation study for the dam site. Trilateral power flow from Nepal to Bangladesh via India begins

Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and officials from Nepal and Bangladesh inaugurated the first trilateral power flow transaction on 15 November 2024.  The event marked the transmission of hydroelectric power from Nepal to Bangladesh, facilitated through India’s electricity grid.
