Solarworld wins Rs 267.5 crore BOS contract for NTPC Bikaner solar block

Solarworld Energy Solutions Limited has received a letter of award from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited for the balance of system package for Block-IX, a 200 MWac block under NTPC’s 1,000 MW grid-connected solar PV project at Bikaner, Rajasthan. 

The contract, valued at approximately Rs 267.53 crore including taxes, was awarded on March 31, 2026, and carries an execution timeline of 19 months. The scope also includes three years of comprehensive operations and maintenance of the solar PV plant.

The 1,000 MW Bikaner project comprises two blocks of 300 MW each and two blocks of 200 MW each. Solarworld’s award covers one of the 200 MW blocks under bidding document NRE-CS-5800-004(BOS1)-9.

The contract adds to a growing order book for Solarworld from NTPC. The company has also secured BESS EPC contracts from NTPC Limited worth approximately Rs 285 crore in the latest round of awards issued on March 30, 2026, covering a 50 MW/100 MWh system at Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal Power Station in Uttar Pradesh and a 75 MW/150 MWh system at Solapur Super Thermal Power Station in Maharashtra. Solarworld had earlier won a Rs 314.26 crore BESS contract at Solapur under Lot-1, taking its total NTPC BESS pipeline at that station past Rs 491 crore.
