SJVN’s Rampur hydro station achieves fastest 2,000 MU generation

SJVN Limited announced on February 6, 2026, that its 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh has achieved a cumulative generation of 2,000 Million Units (MU) in the shortest time since commissioning. The milestone was reached on February 5, 2026.
The state-owned power producer stated that the plant achieved the 2,000 MU mark nine days earlier than its previous best, recorded on February 14, 2020. According to the company, this is the highest generation performance in the station’s eleven years of operation. Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta attributed the achievement to a disciplined work culture and the sustained efforts of the Rampur project team led by Vikas Marwah.
Senior management outlined multiple contributors to the performance. Director (Personnel) Ajay Kumar Sharma cited collective capability, effective human resource practices, and coordination across departments. Director (Finance) Sipan Kumar Garg said the milestone reflected alignment between financial management and operational performance. The company also acknowledged support from the Governments of India and Himachal Pradesh, the Ministry of Power, the Central Electricity Authority, and local district administrations.
SJVN said the Rampur Hydro Power Station has consistently set performance benchmarks since commissioning, supported by its engineering design, maintenance practices, and operational focus, underscoring the company’s commitment to sustainable power generation.
