SJVN appoints Parthajit De as CFO

SJVN Limited has appointed Shri Parthajit De, Director (Finance), as Chief Financial Officer (Key Managerial Personnel) with effect from April 10, 2026.

Before joining SJVN as Director (Finance), De was heading the Corporate Accounts and Policy Section, Corporate Tax Cell, and Employment Benefit Trusts at NHPC Limited. He also served as nominee Director on the board of Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of NHPC.

De is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) and has nearly 30 years of post-qualification experience. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) qualification from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK.

He began his career at NHPC as a Trainee Officer (Finance) in November 1998. Over more than 27 years at NHPC, he worked across corporate accounts, taxation, trusts, and contracts. His experience includes Indian Accounting Standards, taxation, tariff regulations, and corporate governance.

His assignments covered both project sites and corporate functions. He worked at Rangit Project in Sikkim, Teesta Low Dam Projects in West Bengal, Siang Basin Projects in Arunachal Pradesh, and Rural Roads Project in Bihar. His roles included project capitalisation and establishing financial systems for new projects. At the corporate level, he led the committee for first-time adoption of Ind AS in 2016–17.

During his tenure heading Corporate Accounts and Policy, NHPC’s financial statements received nil comments from the Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) for nine consecutive years from 2016–17 onward. The company also received the Silver Shield for Excellence in Financial Reporting in 2019–20 and the Gold Shield in 2020–21 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, along with a Gold Medal for Best Presented Annual Report from the South Asian Federation of Accountants in 2020–21.

He also led the revision and update of NHPC’s finance manuals in 2022 and contributed to tariff-related and accounting processes.
