Shakti Pumps secures Rs 155 crore MSEDCL solar pump order
Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has received a letter of empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for supplying and installing off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems across Maharashtra, with a total order value of about Rs 155.24 crore, inclusive of GST.
The project has been awarded under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana and covers 6,580 solar water pumping systems in capacities of 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP. The scope includes design, manufacture, supply, transport, installation, testing, and commissioning of the systems. The order value, excluding GST, is Rs 142.55 crore.
Execution is scheduled within 60 days from the issuance of the work order or notice to proceed.
The scheme requires a 10% contribution from general category farmers and 5% from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe farmers, with the balance subsidised. It includes a five-year repair guarantee, no electricity bills, and a daytime supply. Eligibility depends on landholding and water access: up to 2.5 acres for 3 HP, 2.51–5 acres for 5 HP, and above 5 acres for 7.5 HP, with lower capacity options allowed. Only farmers with assured water sources qualify, and prior beneficiaries of earlier solar pump schemes are excluded.
