The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with H2Global Stiftung, a non-profit advancing global hydrogen markets, to promote green hydrogen development.
The partnership focuses on leveraging H2Global’s innovative mechanism, implemented by its subsidiary Hintco, to align with international hydrogen market dynamics. Hintco’s tenders provide transparency on pricing, ensure production and delivery of clean fuels, and support legal certainty for final investment decisions. India stands to gain from H2Global’s expertise in structuring tenders and logistics, aligning with global best practices.
H2Global, supported by over USD 6 billion in international funding, collaborates with governments and institutions like the African Development Bank and IRENA. Its mechanisms aim to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors, which will significantly support India’s energy transition goals.
By 2030, 69 million tons of clean hydrogen are needed globally to meet Paris Climate Agreement goals, an area India is keen to contribute to.
