Schneider Electric Infrastructure Limited (SEIL) has increased the capital expenditure for capacity expansion at its Vadodara switchgear plant from Rs 110.2 crore to Rs 156.4 crore. The board approved the revised outlay on March 27, 2026, and the company disclosed the update to stock exchanges.

The additional investment of Rs 46.2 crore will be used to expand shopfloor space and undertake civil and structural works to support future scalability at the facility. The Vadodara plant, located at Kotambi near Halol in Gujarat, has an installed capacity of around 8,000 panels and operates at approximately 90% utilisation.

The expansion is expected to add 6,000 panels, bringing the total capacity to 14,000. The project is targeted for completion within FY 2026-27 and is being funded through internal accruals and borrowings.

SEIL had initially approved the Vadodara expansion on May 26, 2025, with an estimated investment of Rs 110.2 crore. At the same time, the company also approved capacity expansion at its Kolkata breakers plant.

The Kolkata facility is planned to add 40,000 breakers to the existing capacity of about 5,000 breakers, with an investment of Rs 90.6 crore. This expansion is also expected to be completed within FY 2026-27.
