Author: PPD Team Date: August 12, 2025

A consortium of SCC Infrastructure and InSolare has won the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s auction to supply 70,000 tonnes per annum of green ammonia under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition Programme (Mode-2A, Tranche-I). The supply tariff was set at Rs 53.05 per kg. The green ammonia will be supplied to Madhya Bharat Agro Products -III in Dhule, Maharashtra.

The auction was conducted as a single entity with a fixed quantity, meaning the bidding was limited to one participant type and the capacity was predetermined. Both the starting price and reserve price were set at Rs 74.80 per kg.

Following competitive bidding, SCC Infrastructure Pvt Ltd emerged as the Rank-1 bidder, quoting Rs 53.05 per kg as the loaded bid value. This substantial reduction from the starting and reserve prices reflects the competitive e-reverse auction process, which aims to secure cost-effective solutions for large-scale renewable energy projects.

This auction is the fourth in a planned series of 13, with a cumulative procurement capacity of 724,000 tonnes per year.

Earlier in August 2025, Oriana Power won SECI’s third green ammonia auction to supply 60,000 TPA to Madhya Bharat Agro Products in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, under a 10-year contract. NTPC Renewable Energy also secured a contract to supply 70,000 TPA to Krishna Phoschem in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh, for ten years.
