RenewSys India has inaugurated a 3 GW solar module manufacturing facility at IndoSpace Industrial Park in Khopoli, Khalapur district, Maharashtra, increasing its total module manufacturing capacity to 5.6 GW.
The facility covers over 7 lakh square feet and operates as a fully automated unit with artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled production lines, real-time digital monitoring for quality control, and integrated logistics infrastructure. It has been designed for future capacity expansion. The plant was inaugurated by Saif Dhorajiwala, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Fourth Partner Energy.
Capacity expansion and manufacturing plans
RenewSys describes itself as an integrated manufacturer of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules and key components such as encapsulants and backsheets. It is part of the ENPEE Group, established in 1961. The company is also setting up a 4.5 GW solar cell manufacturing line, targeted for FY2026-27.
The Khopoli location, with proximity to Mumbai and access to road and rail networks, is expected to support both domestic distribution and exports.
The addition comes amid continued expansion in India’s solar manufacturing capacity, supported by the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and increasing demand from utility-scale renewable energy projects. The push is aimed at reducing reliance on imported solar modules, particularly from China. Maharashtra has emerged as a key location for such investments, alongside Rajasthan and Gujarat.
