RECPDCL transfers SPVs to PGCIL and DRAIPL for Rajasthan REZ Phase IV transmission projects

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a subsidiary of REC Limited, has transferred two Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) as part of the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Phase IV power evacuation projects.
The first SPV, Rajasthan IV 4A Power Transmission Limited, was transferred to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), for the development of “Transmission system for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part 4: 3.5 GW): Part B.” Key components include a 765/400 kV, 2×1,500 MVA substation near Ghiror in Uttar Pradesh, the augmentation of the Barmer-I Pooling Station, and the construction of 283.05 km of 765 kV transmission lines and 43.28 km of 400 kV transmission lines, among other associated works.
The second SPV, Rajasthan IV 4B Power Transmission Limited, was transferred to Dineshchandra R. Agarwal Infracon Pvt Ltd (DRAIPL), for the Transmission system for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part 4: 3.5 GW): Part B. This project will build a 765/400kV, 2×1500 MVA substation, known as the “Merta-II substation,” in Rajasthan. It also involves the construction of 578 km of 765 kV and 73 km of 400 kV transmission lines.
Both projects are expected to be completed within 24 months. The transfer follows the selection of the companies as Transmission Service Providers (TSP) through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process by RECPDCL.
