REC, CPRI sign MoU for quality testing under RDSS
REC Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) to strengthen quality assurance and testing mechanisms for materials used under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
The agreement seeks to establish a framework for third-party quality assessment of materials deployed across RDSS projects and provide technical support for improving implementation standards in the distribution sector.
Partnership scope
Under the MoU, REC and CPRI will collaborate on third-party quality testing of materials used in RDSS works, development of quality assurance frameworks, technical assistance and capacity-building initiatives.
The partnership is aimed at ensuring that equipment and materials deployed under the scheme comply with prescribed standards, thereby improving the reliability and performance of electricity distribution infrastructure.
RDSS is the Government of India’s flagship programme for strengthening the distribution sector through infrastructure upgrades, loss reduction measures and modernisation of utility operations.
