Power Sustainable completes phase one investment in Desert Quartzite Solar+Storage Project
Power Sustainable Energy Infrastructure (PSEI), a division of Power Sustainable, has completed the first phase of its strategic investment in the Desert Quartzite Solar+Storage Project in Riverside County, California. This investment grants PSEI a 50% ownership stake in the project, which is currently under construction.
The Desert Quartzite Solar+Storage Project is a collaboration with Potentia Renewables, PSEI’s integrated developer and operator, and it marks PSEI’s expansion into the California utility-scale market. The project is designed to deliver 300 MW of solar power combined with a 150 MW/4-hour battery energy storage system (BESS). The electricity generated will be supplied to the Clean Power Alliance under a 20-year power purchase agreement, serving 35 communities across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
The completion of the project and the final phase of PSEI’s investment are expected to align with the commencement of commercial operations. Construction is anticipated to be finalized by the end of 2024, making the Desert Quartzite project PSEI’s largest investment to date.
EDF Renewables, responsible for the project’s long-term operations and maintenance, will ensure the efficiency and reliability of the Desert Quartzite project.
