Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, POWERGRID Khavda II-C Transmission Limited, has achieved commercial operation of the project titled Transmission scheme for evacuation of 4.5GW renewable energy injection at Khavda pooling station under Phase II Part C, effective from 31 January 2026.

Power Grid said the commissioning strengthens the inter state transmission system required to integrate large scale renewable energy into the national grid. The project was executed under the regulated framework for developing inter state transmission systems through competitive bidding.

The project includes substation and transmission line works. At the Ahmedabad substation, the scope covers three 1,500 MVA, 765/400 kV transformers, 765 kV and 420 kV bus reactors, interconnecting transformer bays, and multiple 765 kV and 400 kV line bays, along with future provisions for additional bays and reactors.
