Polenergia and Equinor Wind Power have finalized charter agreements for crew transfer vessels (CTVs) to support the construction of the Baltyk 2 and Baltyk 3 offshore wind farms in the Polish Baltic Sea, each with a capacity of 720 MW. Project companies MFW Bałtyk II and MFW Bałtyk III, formed by the two firms, are overseeing these agreements.

For each project, two CTVs have been contracted: one with UK-based Njord Offshore and the other with Denmark’s Northern Offshore Services. In total, four vessels will support the construction of the wind farms and offshore transformer stations, also providing services during the initial operational phase, including technological start-up.

MFW Bałtyk II has secured a three-year charter for its vessels, with the option for a three-year extension. MFW Bałtyk III’s contracts allow for a three-year option valid until September 1, 2026, and also include an extension clause. Over three years, estimated charter costs are €13.5 million ($14.58 million) for MFW Bałtyk II and €13.8 million for MFW Bałtyk III, with an additional €30 million anticipated if all extensions are utilized. Ship charters are scheduled to begin in Q2 2026 for Baltyk 2 and Q3 2027 for Baltyk 3.

The contracts are governed by English law and include standard maritime provisions covering liability, insurance, and termination.
