Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has received the letter of intent (LoI) for developing the ISTS-TBCB scheme under “Rajasthan IV 4A Power Transmission Ltd.”
The LoI, issued on November 25, 2024, pertains to the “Transmission system for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part 4: 3.5 GW): Part A,” with REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) acting as the bid process coordinator.
The scheme, estimated to cost Rs 58.46 billion, is expected to be commissioned within 24 months. It involves infrastructure development in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, including augmentation of the Barmer-I Pooling Station in Rajasthan, the establishment of a 765/400kV, 2×1500 MVA AIS substation at Ghiror in Uttar Pradesh, and a 765kV double-circuit line connecting Ghiror to Dausa over 305 km.
The overall transmission system for Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (3.5 GW) is split into Part A, awarded to PGCIL, and Part B, housed under “Rajasthan IV 4B Power Transmission Ltd.” PGCIL is also in contention for Part B, alongside Sterlite Power, Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL), and Dineshchandra R. Agrawal Infracon Pvt Ltd.
