PFCCL invites bids for consultancy on SR-ER grid strengthening project

PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL) has issued a tender for the appointment of a technical consultant for surveying and preparing a report for the Inter-Regional Strengthening between Southern Region (SR) Grid and Eastern Region (ER) Grid. The bid invitation was released on May 13, 2025. The deadline for submission is May 20, 2025.

PFCCL has been designated as the bid process coordinator (BPC) for selecting a transmission service provider (TSP) through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process.

The transmission scheme includes the following components:

  1. a) Angul–Srikakulam 765 kV 2nd double circuit (D/c) line
  • Approximate line length: 275 km

  • Two 765 kV line bays (GIS) at Srikakulam

  • Two 765 kV line bays (AIS) at Angul

  • Two 240 MVAr switchable line reactors (SLRs) at Srikakulam (6×80 MVAr units each)

  • Two 240 MVAr switchable SLRs at Angul (6×80 MVAr units each)

  1. b) 765 kV Bus Reactor at Angul Substation
  • One 330 MVAr (3×110 MVAr switchable units) bus reactor

  • One associated 765 kV reactor bay

The consultancy assignment is part of preparatory activities for launching the project under the TBCB framework.
