NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has commenced commercial operations on a cumulative 110 MW capacity under two major solar power projects in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
- Rajasthan: NTPC REL started commercial operations on 60 MW of the 320 MW solar power project in Bhainsara, Jaisalmer, on January 7, 2025. The entire 320 MW capacity, part of the 470 MW grid-connected solar PV project (Tranche III), is expected to be commissioned by February 2025. The 150 MW Chhattargarh, Bikaner project under this tranche has already been commissioned. Power from these projects will be supplied to Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL) under a power sale agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
- Madhya Pradesh: NTPC REL commenced operations on 50 MW under Phase-I of the 220 MW solar power project (Unit-2) in Shajapur district. This is part of the 325 MW Shajapur Solar Power Park Project, implemented by NTPCGE Power Services Private Limited (NGSL).
