NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) for 1,000 MW of solar power.
The PPA was signed at a tariff of Rs 2.56 per kWh. NTPC REL had secured this capacity in UPPCL’s January 2025 auction for solar photovoltaic projects.
Separately, on June 6, 2025, NTPC REL commissioned 110.52 MW of solar capacity under the 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project. This forms part of the larger 4,750 MW Khavda Wind-Solar Hybrid Renewable Energy Power Park located in Khavda tehsil, Kutch, Gujarat.
NTPC is developing the 4,750 MW hybrid park on 9,500 hectares of land. The park will be divided into two zones for wind and solar installations. Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL) is the nodal agency overseeing the implementation.
