NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has re-invited bids for an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) package to develop 500 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) power projects in Gujarat’s Kutch district. The bid submission deadline is May 16, 2025.

The projects will be split into two parts: a 275 MW solar PV project and a 225 MW solar PV project, both set to be part of the massive Khavda Renewable Energy Parks in the Rann of Kutch.

The first part includes the development of a 275 MW solar PV project under the 4,750 MW Khavda Wind-Solar Hybrid Renewable Energy Park, which has been a key initiative in the region. Bidding for this project was originally launched in July 2024, but NTPC REL has now re-opened the process.

The second part of the project involves setting up a 225 MW grid-connected solar PV project as part of GUVNL Phase XXIII, which is part of the 3,325 MW Khavda Renewable Energy Park under GSECL. Initial bids for this project were invited in May 2024.

These solar power projects are critical steps towards India’s ambitious renewable energy targets and will help further strengthen Gujarat’s position as a hub for solar energy development.
