NTPC Green Energy Limited has declared commercial operation of a 130.47 MW portion of its Khavda solar project in Gujarat, effective January 29, 2026. With this addition, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green has increased to 8,478.25 MW.
In a regulatory filing dated January 28, 2026, NTPC Green informed the stock exchanges that the tenth part of its 1,255 MW Khavda I Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Project has achieved commercial operation. The newly commissioned capacity of 130.47 MW is covered under the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme Phase II Tranche III and is being implemented by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary.
The commissioning reflects the continued scale-up of the group’s renewable energy portfolio. Before this declaration, the group’s operational renewable capacity stood at 8,347.78 MW. The latest capacity addition has taken the cumulative installed capacity to 8,478.25 MW.
