NTPC Green Energy Limited has declared the commercial operation of 125 MW solar power capacity under its 500 MW Bhadla Solar PV Project in Rajasthan. With this addition, the group’s installed capacity has increased to 8,813.25 MW.

In a regulatory filing dated February 3, 2026, the company said the capacity located at Phalodi, Rajasthan, achieved commercial operation with effect from 00:00 hours on January 31, 2026. The declaration was made based on a certificate issued by Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RREC).

The newly commissioned capacity is owned by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy.

Previous month, NTPC Green Energy declared the commercial operation of the first 300 MW portion of the 500 MW Bhadla Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Project at Phalodi, Rajasthan. The commissioning certificate for this capacity was issued jointly by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and RREC on January 14, 2026, with commercial operation effective from January 13, 2026.

The Bhadla project forms part of India’s expanding utility-scale solar capacity and supports the broader push for higher non-fossil fuel-based power generation.
