NTPC completes 15 MW Bhilai floating solar power project

NTPC Limited has declared the commercial operation of the final 5 MW module of the Bhilai Floating Solar Power Station, completing the entire 15 MW project. The final module was commissioned on June 24, 2026, through NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited (NSPCL), a joint venture of NTPC Limited.

Final module commissioned

The third and final module comprises two units of 2.5 MW each, collectively known as Island-2. With its commercial operation, the full 15 MW floating solar project at Bhilai is now operational.

Group capacity rises

Following the commissioning, the total installed capacity of the NTPC group has reached 90,904 MW, while its commercial capacity has increased to 89,824 MW.
