On June 27, 2025, the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), in partnership with the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) and AIC IIT Delhi, launched a Call for Proposals to support start-ups in the renewable energy sector.

The programme targets technologies in solar, green hydrogen, energy storage, AI/ML in energy, smart grids, and decentralised RE applications. It aims to help start-ups move from proof-of-concept (TRL 3–4) to market-ready solutions (TRL 6–8).

Selected start-ups will gain access to NISE labs, incubation support at AIC IIT Delhi, mentorship, certification assistance, and potential funding or pilot opportunities. Focus areas include AgriPV, floating solar, small hydro, alternative fuels, and circular economy solutions.

Applicants must be DPIIT-recognized start-ups with 51% Indian ownership and IP based in India. Only one proposal is allowed per start-up. Projects must show originality and readiness to scale. Funding is not available for early-stage concepts or previously funded ideas.

Applications are due by August 26, 2025. Required documents include an application form, innovation note, pitch deck, and enclosures.

Support lasts two years, extendable by one year. Terms will be defined in a Memorandum of Agreement. NISE may terminate support for non-compliance.
