NHPC and IOCL sign MoU to form JV for renewable energy projects

NHPC Limited and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop renewable energy projects across India. The agreement was formalised on June 27, 2025.
The two public sector undertakings will form a joint venture company to lead the development of clean energy assets. The focus will be on expanding solar, wind, and other emerging green technologies to support India’s low-carbon power goals.
This collaboration signals a growing trend of cross-sector partnerships between power and oil companies in the public sector. Both NHPC and IOCL aim to strengthen their renewable energy portfolios through this joint effort.
