NGEL signs MoU with UP for renewable energy and green hydrogen projects

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttar Pradesh on January 22, 2026, for the development of renewable energy and green hydrogen projects in the state.
The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland. The agreement was executed by Sh. Vijay Kiran Anand, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of Invest UP and Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), and Sh. DMR Panda, Executive Director of NGEL.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Finance and Parliamentary Affairs for the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Suresh Kumar Khanna. Senior officials from the Uttar Pradesh government and representatives from NTPC and NGEL were also present.
The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration under which NGEL will develop and implement renewable energy and green hydrogen production projects in Uttar Pradesh. The agreement outlines cooperation between the company and the state government to support clean energy deployment and related infrastructure within the state.
