Netinium and Wirepas have announced a partnership to enable scalable and standardized smart metering solutions for utilities globally.
The collaboration leverages Wirepas’ non-cellular 5G RF mesh connectivity, which utilizes license-exempt spectrum, and Netinium’s next-generation multi-vendor smart meter head-end system (HES).
This partnership addresses the increasing demand for faster and more extensive data collection in smart metering, acting as a critical clearing point between energy systems and “behind-the-meter” assets.
Wirepas’ decentralized mesh network, built on the NR+ standard, offers utilities robust and scalable network deployments without the need for traditional infrastructure, ensuring transparency and control. Meanwhile, Netinium’s HES provides utilities with a vendor-agnostic platform for device life-cycle management, security key management, and data collection, enhancing long-term efficiency and innovation.
Both companies will showcase their future-proof smart metering solutions at the ESMIG Interoperability Demo during ENLIT Europe, October 22-24, 2024.
