Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) has invited bids for three major projects with a combined estimated cost of over Rs 10.7 billion. The tenders cover STATCOM installations and a large-scale conductor replacement effort across key 400 kV substations and lines.
On May 8, 2025, MSETCL issued a tender for the supply, installation, and commissioning of a ±200 MVAR STATCOM system. This includes a 400 kV outdoor GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) bay with Bay Control Unit (BCU) and allied works at the 400 kV Dhule substation. The estimated project cost is Rs 3,418.2 million. The deadline for bid submission is June 9, 2025.
A day later, on May 9, 2025, MSETCL released another tender for a ±300 MVAR STATCOM system. This project involves installation along with a 400 kV AIS (Air Insulated Switchgear) bay at the 400 kV Lonikand-II substation. The work is expected to be completed in 30 months, with an estimated cost of Rs 3,386.6 million. The bid submission deadline is also June 9, 2025.
In a separate project, MSETCL has invited bids for replacing existing 0.5 ACSR (Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced) twin moose conductors and hardware with high-performance conductor (HPC) equivalents. The work covers the 400 kV Kalwa–Talegaon, Kalwa–Kharghar, and Kharghar–Talegaon lines, along with associated bays at 400 kV RS Kalwa, RS Kharghar, and PGCIL Talegaon. The last date to submit bids is May 26, 2025. The estimated cost for this upgrade is Rs 3,942.55 million.
