MNRE adds six manufacturers to ALMM

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has expanded the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar modules by adding six new manufacturers. The new entrants include Vikram Solar Limited, Army Solar Energy Private Limited, Sahjanand Green Energy LLP, Best Apartment Private Limited, Rajdeep Solar Energy Private Limited and Startup Energy Private Limited. With the update, the ALMM now covers 120 solar module manufacturing facilities with a combined enlisted capacity of about 113 GW.
Among the new entrants, Vikram Solar Limited has secured the largest capacity addition. Its manufacturing facility in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, has been enlisted with a capacity of 3,358 MW. The plant will produce glass-to-glass bifacial N-Type Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) modules.
Best Apartment Private Limited, based in Jaipur, has been enlisted with a capacity of 1,105 MW for manufacturing glass-to-glass N-Type TOPCon modules. Startup Energy Private Limited from Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, has entered the list with a capacity of 1,034 MW, also producing glass-to-glass bifacial N-Type TOPCon modules.
Two companies from Surat, Gujarat, have also been added. Army Solar Energy Private Limited has been enlisted with a manufacturing capacity of 622 MW for bifacial N-Type TOPCon glass-to-glass modules. Sahjanand Green Energy LLP has been included with a capacity of 193 MW and will manufacture mono Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell (mono-PERC) modules as well as N-Type TOPCon glass-to-glass modules.
Rajdeep Solar Energy Private Limited, located in Kachchh, Gujarat, has been enlisted with a capacity of 194 MW. The company will produce glass-to-transparent backsheet mono-PERC modules.
Waaree Energies Limited continues to hold the largest enlisted capacity on the ALMM list at around 17 GW. In addition to the new entrants, several manufacturers have added fresh capacities in the latest update, including Insolation Energy Limited, Swelect HHV Solar Photovoltaics Private Limited, Nithin Sai Renewables Private Limited, Solex Energy Limited, Macwin Solar Energy Private Limited, Websol Energy System Limited and Goldi Sun Private Limited, mainly for glass-to-glass N-Type TOPCon modules.
The Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) specifies solar module manufacturers and models eligible for use in government-supported solar projects in India. The requirement applies to grid-connected solar power projects, government procurement programmes and schemes funded by public sector entities.
