MegaCharge, the electric vehicle (EV) charging arm of Mega Nirman & Industries Limited, has partnered with the National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV) initiative to deploy 660 charging points along a planned 5,500 km e-highway corridor across India.
NHEV covers 26 national highways and expressways across 14 states and is structured under the Annuity Hybrid E-Mobility (AHEM) model, which combines participation from government entities, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and private players. The corridors are being developed with integrated EV charging, battery swapping, and roadside assistance, with a target completion timeline of 2030.
MegaCharge will supply and maintain both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) fast chargers along the designated routes. The company stated that it is targeting 5,000 deployed charging points nationwide by 2030. At present, it has installed over 20 charging points, largely in Delhi, with recent additions in Kanpur.
The scale of the NHEV engagement is significantly larger than MegaCharge’s current deployment base. The company has not disclosed the contract value, execution timeline, or financing structure. It clarified that the filing submitted to BSE is for record purposes only and does not qualify as a Regulation 30 disclosure.
