Marsons secures US solar transformer order worth Rs 298.5 million
Marsons Limited has received a Letter of Award and Purchase Order valued at Rs 298.5 million (approximately USD 3.1 million) from a US-based solar energy developer for the supply of a 200 MVA, 115 kV power transformer, the company informed stock exchanges.
The transformer will be installed at a solar power project in Cherokee County, Alabama, United States. The company said the order has been awarded by an international entity and execution is expected to take more than 12 months.
Order details
Marsons stated that the transaction is not a related party transaction. The company also clarified that no promoter, promoter group or group companies have any interest in the entity awarding the contract.
The order adds to the company’s export business in the United States market, where it manufactures transformers as per Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards.
Manufacturing footprint
Marsons Limited, headquartered in Kolkata, manufactures distribution, high voltage and Extra High Voltage (EHV) transformers. The company stated that it is the only transformer manufacturer in Eastern India producing EHV transformers.
It is also developing a manufacturing facility for 315 MVA, 400 kV class transformers.
