Luminous Power Technologies has inaugurated a lead acid battery manufacturing facility in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

Spanning 8 acres in the SIDCUL Industrial Estate, the plant features a green positive plate manufacturing process using 100 per cent grey oxide through a wet paste filling method for industrial batteries. It also includes an acid circulation system, an automatic battery assembly line operating at twice the speed of conventional systems, and a high-speed battery charging process that enhances efficiency while conserving water.

The facility houses a Lead Acid & Alternative Chemistry Laboratory to support research in sustainable energy solutions. It also features 3,036 rooftop solar panels generating 1 MW of power and a smart interface for real-time monitoring of production. Digital dashboards and an innovative learning centre, DOJO, have been incorporated to enhance employee training.

Certified under Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), and Energy Management Systems by the British Standards Institution, the plant has also been recognized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for its environmental practices. With an annual production capacity of 1.5-2 GWh, the facility follows a LEAN layout to ensure operational efficiency and consistent quality.
