Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has announced multiple major order wins in the Middle East, spanning its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) and Hydrocarbon Onshore businesses.
The PT&D vertical has secured grid infrastructure projects worth between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 5,000 crore, including a 400 kV substation in the UAE to establish a direct interconnection for the GCC super grid, new 132 kV substations to meet growing electricity demand, and 380 kV overhead transmission lines in Saudi Arabia to integrate renewable energy plants.
In its Hydrocarbon Onshore segment (L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore), L&T has won an ultra-mega order exceeding Rs 15,000 crore to build a Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) plant and allied facilities in the Middle East. The project, executed in a consortium with Greece-based Consolidated Contractors Group S.A.L. (CCC), covers engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning, as well as integration with existing facilities. L&T will lead engineering and procurement, while CCC will manage construction. The plant will process Rich Associated Gas (RAG) from offshore and onshore fields, removing impurities such as H2S, CO2, and H2O to produce lean sales gas, ethane, propane, butane, and hydrocarbon condensate.
Commenting on the orders, L&T Chairman & Managing Director S.N. Subrahmanyan said the projects reinforce L&T’s global presence and capability to execute complex energy infrastructure.
Deputy Managing Director & President Subramanian Sarma added that the projects combine scale with advanced engineering and brownfield integration, enhancing energy security and L&T’s partnership with oil and gas companies.
