Larsen & Toubro Limited’s Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) vertical has secured a set of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) orders for grid system projects across India and the Middle East.

In India, the PT&D vertical received contracts for the design, supply, and construction of two 220 kV Gas Insulated Substations (GIS) in the Durgapur-Raniganj-Asansol industrial belt of West Bengal. The scope includes related transmission line sections featuring advanced conductors and multi-circuit towers. These projects are intended to support voltage stability and improve reliability of power networks serving industrial and infrastructure demand in the region.

In the Middle East, Larsen & Toubro secured orders from utilities for turnkey construction of five substations and more than 250 kilometers of transmission lines across three countries. The projects involve voltage levels up to 500 kV, including one contract covering supply and installation of a 400 kV underground cable system.

The company stated that the orders reflect ongoing investments in grid infrastructure linked to rising electricity demand, changes in the energy mix, and network security requirements. According to Larsen & Toubro, the wins highlight customer confidence in its execution capabilities for grid infrastructure projects.

Under the company’s classification system, orders valued between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 5,000 crore fall under the “Major” category.
