Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) has secured a contract from NTPC Limited for the supply and installation of the main plant package, including the boiler and turbine, for the 3×800 MW Nabinagar Coal-Based Thermal Power Project Stage II.
Nabinagar Power Generation Company Private Limited (NPGCL), a joint venture between NTPC and Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL), has proposed Stage II of the project with a total capacity of 2,400 MW in the Aurangabad district, Bihar. L&T Energy CarbonLite Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of L&T, received a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) for the main plant package on November 12, 2024.
L&T-MHI Power Boilers Private Limited (LMB) and L&T-MHI Power Turbine Generators Private Limited (LMTG), both joint ventures with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), Japan, will be involved in the supply.
In January, L&T reported a fiscal third-quarter profit of Rs 33.59 billion, reflecting a 13.96% increase from Rs 29.47 billion in the same quarter of FY24. Revenue from operations rose 17.31% to Rs 646.68 billion, driven by a strong order book and increased execution in its Projects & Manufacturing (P&M) businesses.
