KPI Green Energy secures CEIG approval for 100 MW solar project
KPI Green Energy Limited has received charging permission from the Chief Electrical Inspector (CEIG), Nagpur, for a 100 MW (AC) / 128 MW (DC) grid-connected ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Maharashtra, according to a regulatory filing by the company.
The approval enables the project to move forward towards operationalisation and marks the completion of a key regulatory requirement for grid connectivity and power evacuation.
Project details
The solar project has been developed for Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) on a turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis.
Located at Ramthi, Narkhed, in Nagpur district, the project has a capacity of 100 MW (AC) and 128 MW (DC). The project adds to MAHAGENCO’s renewable energy portfolio as the state utility expands its solar generation capacity.
Strategic significance
The project represents KPI Green Energy’s entry into Maharashtra’s renewable energy market through a utility-scale solar installation executed for a state-owned power generation company.
With the receipt of charging permission from CEIG, the project has cleared an important regulatory milestone required before commissioning and integration with the grid.
The development also expands KPI Green Energy’s portfolio of utility-scale EPC projects and strengthens its presence in the public-sector renewable energy segment.
