Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) has invited bids to select a joint venture (JV) partner for developing and operating the 2×800 MW Godhna Coal Based Power Project in Chhattisgarh. The bid submission deadline is June 16, 2025.
The selected JV partner will hold a 74 per cent equity stake and will be responsible for the design, engineering, financing, procurement, construction, and operation and maintenance (O&M) of the project. KPCL will hold the remaining 26 per cent.
The power plant will be located at Godhna village in Janjgir–Champa district and will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model on a design, build, finance, own, and operate (DBFOO) basis. The total investment is estimated at Rs 145.33 billion.
Initial work under the JV agreement, valued at Rs 19.8 million, is expected to be completed within six months.
