Jyoti Structures secures Rs 4 bn contract for Adani’s 765 kV transmission line

Jyoti Structures Limited has received a Rs 3.89 billion Notification of Award (NoA) from Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) for the 765 kV DC transmission line 1B of Boisar II-Pune III.
The contract includes tower supply, survey, soil investigation, foundations, erection, stringing, testing, and commissioning on a turnkey basis. The project is part of the Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from the potential renewable energy zone in Khavda, Gujarat, under Phase-IV (7GW): Part D and is expected to be completed in 18 months.
In November 2024, AESL acquired Pune-III Transmission Limited, the special purpose vehicle (SPV) responsible for developing this transmission system. PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL) coordinated the bidding process to select the transmission service provider through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.
The project has an estimated cost of Rs 34.55 billion. Key components include the establishment of a 2×1500 MVA 765/400 kV and 3×500 MVA 400/220 kV Pune-III (GIS) substation, a 200 km 765 kV DC transmission line, multiple line reactors, and line-in-line-out (LILO) arrangements for improved grid connectivity.
