Just Climate to invest Rs 12.56 billion in Continuum Green Energy for wind-solar hybrid projects in India
Continuum Green Energy, a leading renewable energy group in India focused on commercial and industrial consumers, has entered into a definitive agreement with Just Climate, a specialist investment firm. Just Climate will invest Rs 12.56 billion (approximately USD 150 million) in new equity to support Continuum’s deployment of wind-solar hybrid energy generation and storage projects across India. This investment is part of Just Climate’s Climate Asset Fund I, which targets industrial climate solutions in the Global South, including India.
The transaction, subject to regulatory approvals, positions Continuum for continued growth, building on its existing 2.2 GW portfolio of operational and near-operational projects. Continuum plans to execute an additional 1.3 GW of renewable energy projects within the next 24 months, aiming to displace coal power generation and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This equity raise follows Continuum’s recent $650 million bond issuance and aligns with its strategy of diversifying financing sources to optimize capital costs.
North Haven Infrastructure Partners I, managed by Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, has been an investor in Continuum since 2012.
