Juniper Green, Jakson Green, and RIH Renewables win 200 MW GUVNL wind project auction under Phase VIII
Juniper Green Energy, Jakson Green, and RIH Renewables (EDF Renewables) have won Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited’s (GUVNL) auction to develop 200 MW of grid-connected wind power projects in India under Phase VIII. Originally launched in July 2024 for 500 MW, GUVNL later reduced the auction capacity to 200 MW.
Juniper Green secured 50 MW at a tariff of Rs 3.56 per kWh, RIH Renewables won 40 MW at Rs 3.59 per kWh, and Jakson Green was awarded 50 MW at Rs 3.63 per kWh. Each developer is responsible for constructing the wind projects and connecting them to the central or state transmission network, meeting all necessary regulatory approvals and clearances.
A 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) will be signed by GUVNL with each developer upon the scheduled commencement of power supply. The projects will use wind turbine models listed in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Revised List of Models and Manufacturers.
In January 2024, Juniper Green, Alfanar Projects, and RIH Renewables won GUVNL’s Phase VI auction for 500 MW of grid-connected wind projects. GUVNL has also launched Phase VII for 300 MW of wind projects, with an additional greenshoe option for 300 MW.
