JSW Energy signs 1,200 MW hybrid power deals with MSEDCL

JSW Energy’s subsidiaries, JSW Renew Energy Six Ltd and JSW Renew Energy Thirty Ltd, have signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) for two solar-wind hybrid projects, each with a capacity of 600 MW, totalling 1,200 MW. 

These agreements, awarded on August 29 and September 10, 2024, are set for 25 years at a tariff of Rs 3.60/kWh, with projects expected to be operational within 24 months.

JSW Energy’s current project pipeline stands at 8.3 GW, with 4.4 GW under PPAs. The company’s total generation capacity is 18.2 GW, including 7.7 GW operational, 2.1 GW under construction, and 8.3 GW in renewable projects. It also has 16.2 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery systems and hydro pumped storage. JSW aims to reach 20 GW capacity and 40 GWh storage by 2030, targeting carbon neutrality by 2050.
