JAKSON Engineers appoints Ivan Saha as Managing Director
JAKSON Engineers Limited, part of the JAKSON Group, has appointed Ivan Saha as Managing Director, with responsibility for leading the company’s integrated solar manufacturing business. He will oversee technology, manufacturing operations and business growth as the company expands its manufacturing footprint and pursues backward integration across the solar value chain.
Saha brings more than 31 years of experience spanning the semiconductor, solar and sustainable energy sectors. His appointment comes as JAKSON advances its plans to expand and integrate its solar manufacturing operations.
Sameer Gupta, Chairman of JAKSON Group, said the company has taken a long-term approach to building businesses that address evolving energy requirements and that Saha’s experience would support its continued investment in advanced manufacturing.
Sundeep Gupta, Vice Chairman of JAKSON Group, said process control, quality and cost efficiency would increasingly determine competitiveness as solar manufacturing becomes more integrated and digitalised. He added that Saha’s experience in these areas would support JAKSON’s manufacturing plans.
Commenting on his appointment, Ivan Saha stated that he is excited to join JAKSON and work with its experienced leadership team as the company expands its solar manufacturing capabilities and undertakes an ambitious backward integration journey, with a continued emphasis on technology, quality, and operational efficiency aligned with the nation’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission.
Career
Before joining JAKSON, Saha was CEO of Reliance Infrastructure’s renewable manufacturing business. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Vikram Solar, after holding the positions of Chief Technology Officer and Head of Manufacturing at the company.
He has also served as Chief Technology Officer at ReNew Power and held leadership positions at Moser Baer Photovoltaic and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Saha has held several industry positions, including Chairman of FICCI’s National Task Force on Solar Manufacturing and Chairman of CII’s Eastern Region Energy Council. He is currently Co-Chair of the International Technology Roadmap for Photovoltaic (ITRPV) Board and a member of the World Solar Congress Advisory Board.
He has authored more than 65 research papers and filed over 10 patent applications in photovoltaic technology.
Saha holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ceramic Technology from the University of Calcutta and a Master of Technology degree in Materials Science from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt from Motorola University.
