Insolation Energy Limited has won a contract valued at Rs 5 billion from Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL) to install 77 MW of rooftop solar power systems across Rajasthan.
The project includes the design, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and installation of rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on state government and government-owned buildings in Jaipur, Ajmer, and Kota districts.
Under the contract, a 67 MW solar plant will be set up in Jaipur, while Kota and Ajmer will each host 5 MW installations. The agreement also covers operations and maintenance for 25 years post-commissioning. Developed under the hybrid annuity model, the project is scheduled for completion within 18 months.
Insolation Energy was added to the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in July 2024, with a capacity of 187 MW. Previously, in November 2022, the company received a Letter of Award (LOA) from Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited for grid-connected rooftop solar installations.
Additionally, in February 2023, a joint venture between Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC) and RRECL was established to develop 1.8 GW of renewable energy projects in Rajasthan, with an eventual aim of 10 GW and an estimated investment of Rs 400 billion.
