INOX India Ltd (INOXCVA) has secured a major contract with Highview Power for its Liquid Air Energy Storage (LAES) project in Carrington, Manchester. As part of the deal, INOXCVA will deliver five high-pressure, 690kl vacuum-insulated cryogenic tanks, the largest of their kind ever fabricated by the company. This contract strengthens INOXCVA’s foothold in the global cryogenic equipment market and aligns with the growing demand in the energy storage sector.
Siddharth Jain, Promoter and Non-Executive Director of INOX India, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing the company’s cryogenic technology expertise and commitment to supporting the UK’s clean energy transition. Richard Butland, CEO of Highview Power, highlighted INOXCVA’s role in the project, noting its contribution to the UK’s Net Zero ambitions.
Highview Power’s Carrington facility, the world’s first commercial-scale LAES plant, will add 300 MWh of renewable energy storage capacity and enable 50 MW of power discharge over 6 hours. This facility aims to stabilize the energy grid and address the intermittent nature of renewable sources, playing a vital role in advancing the UK’s Net Zero objectives.
