India Power Corporation Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1), quoting Rs 4,389.29 million for setting up a pilot project for a Thermal Energy Storage System (TESS) integrated with the NTPC Dadri Power Plant to supply 15 MW of additional power.
NTPC Limited had invited bids for the project in April 2024.
Oswal Infrastructure Limited ranked as the second-lowest bidder (L2) with a quote of Rs 5,535.42 million.
The project scope includes designing, engineering, supplying, constructing, testing, and commissioning a 200 MWh (thermal) TESS integrated with the plant’s steam and feedwater cycle.
The system will generate 15 MW of net power for four hours using a new turbine and generator set, along with piping, valves, fittings, feedwater pumps, heat exchangers, and other auxiliaries.
Associated civil works and a three-year operation and maintenance (O&M) contract, including spares and consumables, are also part of the scope.
NTPC Dadri, located in Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, has six operational units with a total capacity of 2,630 MW.
