Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA) has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Ampin Energy Utility One Private Limited for a contracted demand of 40 MW of hybrid renewable power. The agreement has been signed for 25 years.

The hybrid project will include 58 MW of solar and 58 MW of wind capacity. This agreement follows a binding term sheet signed on February 25, 2025.

Earlier, in December 2024, IMFA entered into a joint venture with JSW Green Energy to source 70 MW of renewable energy for its smelting operations. IMFA had committed Rs 832.6 million to that wind-solar hybrid project.

Commenting on the latest agreement, IMFA’s Chief Operating Officer, Bijayananda Mohapatra, said the integration of hybrid renewable energy is part of the company’s broader strategy to reduce reliance on conventional sources and strengthen its commitment to responsible manufacturing.
